INDIANAPOLIS -- A former Pike High School teacher was sentenced on Friday after pleading guilty to possessing child pornography.

Jason Krockenberger, 36, of Brownsburg, was arrested in June 2009 after a computer shop technician discovered the files on his computer.

He was sentenced to just more than six years in prison, and must register as a sex offender after his release. He was also ordered to pay $1,000 in restitution to one of the victims portrayed in his child pornography collection.

Krockenberger, who was at Pike as an earth science teacher for five years, admitted that he had child porn on his desktop and laptop computers and told police that he took his laptop to his classroom to view the images and videos there.

He was fired from the district and his teaching certificate has been revoked.
