BROOKSTON, Ind. -- A man who fell ill and veered off Interstate 65 in White County was likely saved by his seat belt, police said.Jonathon S. Finnerty, 28, of Kentucky, was northbound near the 189 mile marker Friday morning when he told police he felt sick and ran off the road, causing his truck to flip several times, coming to rest on its top, said state police Sgt. Kim Riley.Finnerty was helped from the vehicle by emergency responders and was transported to St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette with non-life-threatening injuries.Police said the wreck could have been much more serious."Seat belts probably helped in lessening the severity of his injuries," said Trooper Jerrad Foutch. "It appears the seat belt kept the driver from being thrown from the vehicle."
