Two people were hospitalized Thursday morning after the car they were in crashed, striking a building.

Mel Smith, who lives at the condo, said he isn't surprised that a car hit the building.

"I knew exactly what happened. You stand out here every day and see them coming around the bend at 40, 50 mph," Smith said. "You knew it was just a matter of time."

Indianapolis police said speed and wet pavement likely caused the crash.
