INDIANAPOLIS -- The American Red Cross has opened shelters to assist people who were displaced by flooding.
In Indianapolis, a shelter is located at the organization's headquarters, 441 E. 10th St., and at a police training facility in Brownsburg, 75 Whittington Drive.
Another shelter was opened in Anderson, at the Union Hall at Mounds and Rangeline roads.
The shelters provide hot meals and a place to sleep for people who are displaced. People who need Red Cross assistance can call (317) 684-1441.
Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by donations. The Red Cross says people who want to help victims of disasters in Indiana and the rest of the country can donate money to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
