4 Arrested In Historic Farmhouse Fire
Police: Hot Line Tip Led To Arrests

PLAINFIELD, Ind. -- Four people have been arrested in connection with setting fire to a vacant home that is on the National Register of Historic Places.The Horace Reeve Farmstead, which was once part of one of the largest dairy farms in central Indiana, caught fire at about 3 a.m. on July 5.

Plainfield police said a tip to the Indiana Arson Hotline led them to arrest Andrew Arthur, 21; Andrew Taylor, 20; Daniel Schutte, 20; and Jessica Allen, 20; on preliminary charges of felony arson.All four suspects admitted to being on the property the night of the fire, police said.The home, constructed off Epler Road in 1859, is surrounded by a barbed wire fence and graffiti had been scrawled on the front porch. It's owned by the Indianapolis Airport Authority and is for sale.
