Comedian Surrenders After Weekend Shooting
Police: Man Opened Fire At Sports Bar

MARION, Ind. -- A stand-up comedian turned himself in Tuesday morning after a shooting at a sports bar over the weekend in which three people were injured.Rodney Carter, 44, was arrested on a charge of battery with a deadly weapon. He was held Tuesday in the Grant County Jail on $50,000 bond.Witnesses told police that Carter walked up to another man Saturday at Yeakle's Sports Bar at 3022 S. Washington St. and asked him to repeat something he'd said.Police said Carter pulled out a gun and fired several shots at the man's legs, striking him three times. Two women were also struck in the legs by stray bullets, police said.Carter had performed at the bar before, but not Friday night. Police said the man who was shot had seen Carter's act before, but police didn't release information about a motive for the shooting.All three victims were treated and released from Marion General Hospital.
