MUNCIE, Ind. -- A Muncie baby sitter has admitted in court that she left a baby unattended in her home the afternoon he died and then lied about her whereabouts.A Delaware County judge said during a Tuesday hearing he would rule on whether to accept the plea agreement from Tina Byrd, 43, at her Sept. 28 sentencing.Byrd pleaded guilty to felony charges of neglect and obstruction of justice.Byrd was arrested in January, a week after 4-month-old Matthew Cheng's death.Police said surveillance video showed Byrd shopping at a Walgreens less than 30 minutes before she reported finding Matthew unresponsive in a crib.Matthew's death happened 11 weeks after a 9-week-old boy died at Byrd's home. A coroner ruled both as "sudden unexpected infant deaths" and no charges were filed in the first death.Byrd's daughter, Kassandra Byrd, was charged with obstruction of justice.
