Seven people were arrested in a drug raid at a home on Indianapolis' east side Tuesday that netted $250,000 worth of marijuana, police said.

A SWAT unit helped officers serve a search warrant at 3216 E. St. Joseph St.

"Inside the house, detectives found approximately 300 pounds of marijuana (and) four guns," said Indianapolis police Lt. Jeff Duhamell. "That tells me they have probably been set up in that area for a while, and maybe had other dealings in narcotics."

Neighbors said they were shocked when they saw all of the police.

"It looked like the whole task force was out here. The whole street was blocked off and we were told to stay inside, and that's what we did, we stayed inside," one woman said.

Seven members of the SUR gang were arrested, Duhamell said, and officers seized $3,500.

The people arrested were identified as Edwin Ramos, 20, Oba Rayos, 21, Carlos Estrada, 19, Luis Carrillo, 21, Jose Sustaita, 22, Gabriel Zamora, 21, and a 15-year-old boy.

Each was arrested on charges of dealing marijuana and possession of marijuana.

"We're putting a dent in them," Duhamell said. "We're not going to tolerate that type of behavior in our city."
