Gun Found Inside Cooking Pot

INDIANAPOLIS -- A woman was cited on a misdemeanor charge of dangerous possession of a firearm after she packed a handgun into a cooking pot before a flight, police said.Indianapolis International Airport Police said Cynthia Ridinger, 28, of Indianapolis, admitted packing the gun and said she felt she needed it during a three-month trip to California.A Transportation Safety Administration agent said the gun was found Tuesday during the screening process before Ridinger was scheduled to board a Midwest Airlines flight to Milwaukee.Police said ammunition accompanied the handgun."All items were found wrapped inside a foam pad and placed inside a metal cooking pot in an apparent attempt to conceal the weapon from X-ray detection," read part of a police report.Police said Ridinger admitted she didn't inform the airline about the handgun beforehand.
