Gas Prices Spike Ahead Of Holiday
AAA: Hoosiers Paying Average Of $2.65 A Gallon

INDIANAPOLIS -- Filling up to hit the road for the holiday will cost Hoosiers more than it did last year.While gas prices have been falling in recent weeks, AAA reported Friday that the national average for regular is $2.68 a gallon, up about 11 cents from the same time last year.

In Indiana, drivers are paying an average of $2.65, according to AAA, an increase of 20 cents from a year ago.However, 6News found several stations around the metro area selling gas for $2.72.Experts said they believe prices will likely fall over the next few months with a surplus at oil companies and the end of the summer driving season.
