Police said the men robbed a nearby Family Dollar and were trying to stay ahead of officers when they hit the Stepping Stones Child Care facility in the 2500 block of East 46th Street, injuring four children and one adult.

Sentencing for Crowe, Harris and Sanford was scheduled for Sept. 15.

The day care reopened in February.
