Police said seven people were taken into custody at the Best Western hotel at Interstate 465 and Washington Street.

Indiana State Police said they were on alert after noticing a group of people setting off fireworks in the hotel parking lot.

Police seized 25 stolen iPads from the bust.

Twenty-five stolen iPads, $3,000 worth of fireworks and more than 200 fraudulent gift cards were recovered, police said.

Investigators said they believe the people, who were from New York, Florida and Pennsylvania, used the gift cards to make the purchases, and were headed for the East Coast to sell the stolen goods.
