Lt. Gov.: State Should Observe Central Time

INDIANAPOLIS -- All of Indiana should observe daylight-saving and Central time, Lt. Gov. Kathy Davis said this week.
Davis told the Indiana Pork Producers Association on Tuesday that the state won't be competitive as a distribution and logistics center unless it makes the switch.
According to a news release, Davis cited a conversation with the owner of a major trucking company who indicated he tries to avoid Indiana. The owner said it costs his business too much time and money to deal with the state's different time zones.
Most of Indiana currently observes Eastern time but not daylight-saving time.
Gov. Joe Kernan said last week he'd like to see the state observe daylight-saving time, but he didn't indicate his time-zone preference, RTV6's Norman Cox reported.
