PITTSBORO, Ind. -- Officials said Thursday that a woman found dead at a Pittsboro truck stop Wednesday died of asphyxiation.
Authorities identified the victim as Buffie Ray Brawley, 27, of Toledo, Ohio. Toxicology may be available in one week, officials said.
Police said a trucker reported finding Brawley's body in the parking lot of the abandoned truck stop off Interstate 74. Investigators said Brawley was partially clothed and that her body showed signs that she had been tied up or restrained.A family friend contacted police Wednesday night after seeing a news report about the incident, RTV6 reported.An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday to determine the cause of death.
