A woman was killed and three other people were injured in a two-vehicle wreck in rural Shelby County on Wednesday.

The crash happened at State Road 244 and County Road 600 East just before 3 p.m.

Witnesses told police that the driver of a PT Cruiser failed to stop at the intersection and was struck by a westbound pickup truck.

Both people in the PT Cruiser -- a 30-year-old woman from Franklin and a 26-year-old man from Greensburg -- were ejected from the vehicle.

The woman was taken to Major Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The man was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. His condition was not released Wednesday night.

The passenger of the pickup truck, a 64-year-old woman from Waldron, had to be extricated from the vehicle. She and the driver, a 54-year-old man from Waldron, were taken to Major Hospital in stable condition.
