INDIANAPOLIS -- Police say they have reason to believe a man caught peeping into the window of a young girl may be dangerous.
Ordinarily, police said they wouldn't be concerned about a Peeping Tom, but around midnight Sunday a man was caught not only peering through a Franklin Township home near Stop 11 and Five Points Road -- he tried to get in, RTV6's Jeremy Brilliant reported. The man was seen by a 14-year-old girl in the home, but he couldn't get in because the door was locked, Brilliant reported. "I thought I saw something, and I looked up and kind of got closer, and he was right there," the girl said. "I didn't know what he would do to me or anything."The teen immediately woke up her father who chased after the man."When I went outside, I had a loaded gun, and I know if I would have ran into someone ... I would have shot him," the girl's father said.According to the teen, she had seen the man following her as she rode her bike around the neighborhood earlier in the day."We can only surmise what was going on in his mind, but what could he have been thinking about trying to get into that home? Was he there to help? Certainly not," Crimestoppers of Central Indiana Lt. Dave Walker said.
Police said the easiest way to identify the man may be through his vehicle. It's a two-door, light-blue car with a bumper sticker that reads: "Violence is the Answer.""That's a disturbing message to put on a car, that 'Violence is the answer,' We don't know what context that is meant in, but just to be placed on a car, it certainly draws attention to it," Walker said.Police said the man is around 6-feet tall with a stocky build and a nose ring. He was seen driving in the area of Stop 11 and Five Points Road.Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 262-TIPS."There's been a lot of thoughts go through our heads about what could have happened to our kids -- or to me -- if I would have encountered him. There's a lot of questions,. (We're) still looking for answers," the teen's father said.
