3 Arrested In Teen's Death During Robbery Attempt

Would-Be Robbers Struggled With Clerk, Police Say

Three people were arrested Thursday in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman on Indianapolis' northwest side during an apparent robbery attempt.

Tia Washum, 25, Jeramie Seabury, 21, and Tymon Brown, 23, all of Indianapolis, were arrested on murder charges in the shooting death of a 17-year-old girl.

Police said the girl and the arrestees were involved in an attempted robbery of a Quick Stop liquor store in the 3600 block of Lafayette Road when a store clerk confronted them.

"A struggle ensued. Shots were exchanged, striking the victim/suspect in the neck," said Kendale Adams, Indianapolis police public information officer. "She died a short time later at the hospital.

Washum, Seabury and Brown were also arrested on attempted robbery charges.

The teen's identity wasn't released. The clerk was treated and released at the scene, police said.
