INDIANAPOLIS -- Popular mobile apps are helping Hoosiers prepare for the Super Bowl and all of the festivities that accompany the National Football League’s championship game.John Weller with AT&T Mobility said apps were unheard of when he began working with the company eight years ago, but now there’s virtually an app for just about anything, RTV6's Tanya Spencer reported.

"We didn't even really have apps then,” Weller said. “Probably one of the best resources is YP mobile, a Yellow Pages app that will help you locate the closest bars, clubs, and restaurants.”Weller said football fans can even download an app to brush up on their Super Bowl trivia.“It gives a question over previous (Super Bowl) games. It even dates back to the first big game,” he said.A kitchen app can provide recipes for game day snacks and even send a list of ingredients right to your phone."These days, the cell phone has everything you need on it,” Weller said. "It's great to have all these things at your fingertips because it's direct access to information. It's really cool."Officials said visitors with mobile devices should have everything they need to navigate through the city right in the palm of their hands.
