INDIANAPOLIS -- A man accused of pretending to be part of a local morning radio team in order to lure males to his home claims the full story has not been told.
Richard Brown, 40, was arrested Thursday and faces three counts of criminal confinement and three counts of identity deception, RTV6's Julie Pursley reported.Police said Brown -- who was on detention for a previous confinement conviction -- had been calling area restaurants asking young male employees if they wanted to win money or a car as part of a Radio Now 93.1 contest.A judge Friday ordered Brown remain in jail pending the outcome of the current case for violating probation."I can tell you there are things in life that I'm guilty of, just because I'm a victim," Brown told reporters outside the courtroom. "Don't judge anything until the details come on this."Police said that once the males went inside Brown's Fletcher Avenue home, they were told to disrobe and put on a T-shirt that was too small to wear, Pursley reported.According to police, a male went to Brown's home Thursday morning and realized something was wrong after he was asked to disrobe and noticed Brown's ankle monitor. The male reportedly told police that the doors were locked when he tried to run out, but that he eventually managed to get out of the house and drive away."Especially to the people in my church that have supported me, I want them to understand that this is not what it has been made out to be by a lot of people," Brown said.In reaction to the incident, the "Billy and Marco Morning Show" -- which Brown allegedly claimed to be a part of -- was holding a 12-hour radio telethon Friday, raising money for the Indiana State Police Youth Services."Unbelievable -- especially since he tried to lure people using our name to his house, and attempt to do some pretty nasty things," Marco said when told of Brown's comments.Brown's next court date was scheduled for Aug. 30.
