Police: 70-Year-Old Downloaded Child Porn

INDIANAPOLIS -- A 70-year-old Indianapolis man has been arrested on suspicion that he downloaded child pornography off the Internet.

Man's Trial Set For November

Earl Shirley's computer held hundreds of images of nude children in provocative poses and having sex with adults, the Marion County Sheriff's Department said.

Authorities said they confiscated the computer as part of a nine-month investigation -- spanning three states -- of allegedly illegal pornographic activities involving other people.

Shirley is charged with one count of child exploitation and two counts of possessing child pornography. A trial is set for Nov. 18.

He was expected to be free on $5,000 bond, RTV6's Derrik Thomas reported. Terms of the bond stipulate that Shirley cannot operate a computer and cannot have unsupervised contact with children.
