State police say they're treating the death of a Terre Haute woman -- whose body was found Tuesday in a private pond in western Indiana's Clay County -- as a homicide.

The body of Tanette Nicole Dickison, 18, was found by the owner of the property that includes the pond, located on the south side of County Road 600 North just west of Indiana 59 in northwestern Clay County, state police said.

An autopsy was conducted Monday at a Terre Haute hospital, but authorities are withholding information on the cause of death "to maintain the investigative integrity of the case," state police said in a press release.

Authorities said anyone who has noticed suspicious activity near the pond in the last week or has information about Dickison's death should call state police at (812) 299-1152 or the Clay County Sheriff's Department at (812) 446-2535.
