The 4-year-old girl who was struck by a pickup truck at the Indiana State Fair was listed in fair condition Sunday at Riley Hospital for Children.

Madalynn Gembala suffered a crushed pelvis, two broken arms and serious internal injuries last Wednesday.

Witnesses said Gembala had been walking with her mother before she broke away running into the path of a truck driving along an access road on the west side of the fairgrounds when the accident happened.

The girl's parents and the driver of the truck, Robert Ingalls, 49, of Mason, Mich., are employed at the fairgrounds midway, police said.

Police said Ingalls did not appear to be impaired. He was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital for drug and alcohol testing.
