INDIANAPOLIS -- Two years ago, she was hit by a car. Her spinal cord was broken. She wasn't supposed to survive, but Samantha Allen is recuperating and thanks to a "Miracle Makeover", rehabilitation just got a whole lot easier.
Samantha's Miracle Makeover
The Allen Family thought they were just going for lunch. Little did they know some 250 people would be at the table in the spirit of ABC's Extreme Makeover, serving up a main course of gigantic proportions. The Allen family will receive a brand new home. For the family of six, currently living in cramped quarters at 1,300 square feet, will almost triple the size of their current home. Lives, especially Samantha's, will be forever changed."Samantha will be able to get up in her chair in the morning and go where she wants to go. I pray all the time so this is just way overwhelming," Priscilla Allen, Samantha's mother, said."Next to having Samantha actually here with us, it's the most incredible thing that's ever happened to us," Jerry Allen, Samantha's father, said.Central Indiana homebuilder C.P. Morgan will oversee the project."Obviously, there's a lot of attention that goes into a home for Samantha and we want to make sure that the home that is provided meets her every need -- not only in the near future, but long term as well," Scott Bowers, with C.P. Morgan, said. Many other local companies are also involved. Union Federal Bank will collect donations at area branches. Keller and Keller helped dream up this miracle makeover. Even the Colts are on board.Soon, the Allens will be home and a 9-year-old girl who was never expected to speak again is suddenly singing. You can donate to Samantha's Miracle here…
