Residents in one local neighborhood are in a round-the-clock battle to shut down a new adult business.

The Lion's Den superstore opened on Friday, just west of Interstate 65's Uniontown exit in southern Indiana. In the last several days since, residents have manned a protest area along the road near the store's entrance, Louisville TV station WLKY reported.

They've been carrying signs not only asking for support, but also threatening exposure of customers going into the store, including shooting video of those patrons.

"It's had a big effect, and we've had people that when they see the sign or they think we're taking a picture going in there, they just kind of turn around and go back out," protester Don Hall said.

Added fellow protester Joyce Gillaspy: "I grew up in a small town that was innocent. I would like to see that stay. I feel like you go to the city, you have to deal with what's there. But when you're in the country, you shouldn't have to deal with something like this."

Sandy Summers, who works for the Lion's Den, said the protesters don't bother her.

"They have a right to be out there as well as we have a right to be here," she said. "We're a legal business, and everything that we have inside is protected as well as ourselves by the First Amendment right."
