An Indianapolis man will not go to prison for trying to steal the identity of baseball superstar Barry Bonds.

A judge Friday handed Jason Keys a suspended sentence for one count of ID deception as part of a plea deal with prosecutors.

Keys worked for a company that shreds and destroys personal records. Investigators said he found papers at the company to get Bonds' Social Security number and apply for a credit card.

The prosecutor's office said Bonds agreed to the terms of the plea agreement.
