Hoosiers Spring Forward With Few Hitches

Hoosiers sprung forward Sunday morning for the first time in more than 30 years.

Most of Indiana changed to Eastern Daylight-Saving Time, moving clocks forward with the rest of the Eastern Time Zone. The change wasn't so simple for some people, 6News' Linda Allen reported.

The clock at City Market still had not been changed as of Sunday afternoon. Other prominently placed clocks in Indianapolis were also still running an hour behind.

Some Hoosiers 6News spoke with said they know the time has changed, but they've not changed their clocks or watches yet.

For those that moved forward, there still seemed to be a bit of confusion.

"So, I got up at 11 and it was actually 10 o'clock. Well, so it was 10 or it was 11. Well, it was 11 o'clock, but it felt like 10 o'clock," said Stephanie Black.

The time change was a big chore at hotels, such as the Crowne Plaza. There are almost 300 clocks inside the hotel, but all were finally set correctly.

Although some Hoosiers are still struggling with the time change, some out-of-towners in the city for the Final Four have even more time complication to deal with.

"We came out from California, so we went three hours different, then we added a fourth hour … and our cell phones changed automatically, but we keep our watches on our West Coast time," said Don Rhodes.

Flights ran smoothly at Indianapolis International Airport on the first day of Daylight-Saving Time in Indiana. The airlines have been planning for months.

Most cell phones change the time on their customers' phones automatically. Computers that were changed from Indiana Time to Eastern Time should have made the change automatically.
