Two Teens Charged In Boy's Gunplay Death

POSTED: 4:18 pm EDT June 23, 2006

Two teenagers were arrested and charged Friday in connection with what police said was the accidental shooting death of a 15-year-old boy.

Police said they believe Desmond Trimble, 16, was playing with a gun and didn't know it was loaded when he shot Bradley Dill in a house on the city's west side Monday.

A few other teenagers were in the house at the time. Police said some of them tried to hide the gun and falsely told investigators that the shooting had come from outside the house.

Police said investigators found a shell casing inside the home and a handgun matching it behind the house. The teens then changed their stories, police said.

Trimble, who surrendered to police Friday afternoon, faces adult charges of reckless homicide, carrying a handgun without a license and dangerous possession of a firearm.

A 15-year-old whom 6News did not name was arrested Friday morning. He faces juvenile charges of obstruction of justice and firearms violations, 6News' Jack Rinehart reported.

Dill was buried Friday.
