SEYMOUR, Ind. -- Motorists traveling the long stretch of Interstate 65 between Indianapolis and Louisville are a bit more guarded after sniper shootings terrorized a stretch of road early Sunday morning. Many drivers were still unaware of what had happened on the stretch of highway as investigators walked the overpass near where the Seymour shootings happened, hoping to find some clues about who fired the shots, 6News' Jennifer Carmack reported.More than 100 miles of highway span between Seymour and the Delaware County shootings, giving motorists and police a lot to think about as they traverse the open road.
Motorists Keep Close Watch After Sniper Shootings
"We're still processing vehicles. We're still trying to get all of our witnesses interviewed. There's people that were passing through that we're trying to locate," said Indiana State Police Sgt. Jerry Goodin.Motorists were angered and sickened by the shootings."It's pretty sick. It's pretty sad, too, but nothing surprises me anymore," said one driver.Tom Hough and his family are headed home from vacation. Hough said the thought of a sniper among drivers is unnerving."You don't want someone out there with those capabilities shooting at people. That's horrible," Hough said.Thousands of drivers were traveling I-65 Sunday afternoon and state police said the shooting shouldn't keep people from doing the things they normally do."Go about your usual business," Goodin said. "Don't stop what you normally do just because this happened."
