SEYMOUR, Ind. -- Indiana State Police investigators are contacting businesses along interstates 65 and 69 to ask for surveillance tapes that might hold some clues after Sunday morning sniper shootings killed one person and wounded another.Investigators also asked motorists who drove through the area north of Seymour and near Muncie on Sunday to check their vehicles for bullet holes.Gas station clerks and merchants in Seymour said they will help in any way they can, 6News' Julie Pursley reported.
Could Surveillance Shots Catch Interstate Sniper?
Hours of tape will be poured through in hopes that the person or persons involved might have been caught on tape."I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary or unusual," said gas station clerk Judy Coffey.Investigators said motorists who might think a rock hit their vehicle might actually find bullet holes."I could see it being very feasible if you're going down the roadway and a bullet were to go in the trunk area ... you could probably never even know it until a week later," Indiana State Police Sgt. Jerry Goodin said.
