Police on Thursday morning said they found a woman's body in a wooded area on the city's east side, bringing to four the number of deaths authorities began investigating in that part of Indianapolis in a 14-hour period.

The body of Debra S. Buchanan, 44, was found in the 3200 block of Richardt Avenue, not far from the apartment complex where she lived, police said. Information on how Buchanan died wasn't immediately available.

Police were investigating three other deaths on the city's east side. According to police, a cab driver was fatally shot in the 3900 block of North Butler Avenue on Wednesday night, and a man and a woman were shot to death early Thursday in the 2400 block of Webster Avenue.
