Northwest Jet Has Cockpit Emergency In Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS -- Emergency crews were on the runway at Indianapolis International Airport late Tuesday following a report from the cockpit of a jet plane.

Smoke was reported in the cockpit of the plane, a Northwest Airlines DC-9 with 75 people on board.

The plane landed without incident. Passengers were immediately taken off the jet, and the plane was towed so it could be checked over.
