Statement From Joel Silverman

The following is a statement from BMV Commissioner Joel Silverman that was e-mailed to the news media on Wednesday afternoon:I have tendered my resignation as commissioner of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles, effective Monday, Oct. 16.I want to thank all associates of the Indiana BMV for their hard work and many achievements during my time as commissioner. This includes branch associates, administrative personnel and the BMV leadership team. Their commitment to public service is remarkable and, truly, I cannot express enough gratitude for their dedication and professionalism.I feel optimistic about the state of the agency. We accomplished much in a short period of time. As a team, we achieved our primary objective, making the BMV a better place to do business for all Hoosiers. We have built a solid foundation for the future of the agency.
