INDIANAPOLIS - Call 6 Investigator Kara Kenney and others will take part in a panel discussion Saturday called "The Public's Right to Know" in observance of Sunshine Week and National Freedom of Information Day.

The panel, which is free and open to the public, will take place at 1 p.m. at the Nora branch of the Indianapolis Public Library, at 86th Street and Guilford Avenue.

The Indiana Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and the Indiana Coalition for Open Government are sponsoring the program, which will discuss how to overcome obstacles from government officials in dealing with freedom of information requests.

Gerry Lanosga, ICOG president and a journalism professor at Indiana University, will detail a report he prepared on Indiana's Freedom of Information laws.

Tim Evans, an investigative reporter at The Indianapolis Star, and Dan Byron, a First Amendment attorney and ICOG board member, will join Kenney on the panel.
