INDIANAPOLIS -- Carrier is now the focus of a health investigation involving lead, Call 6 Investigates has learned.

The Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration is reviewing a complaint involving the plant's Indianapolis warehouse.

There is no production in the area, but it is where finished furnaces are stored and shipped.

So far, the source of the lead is a mystery.

"The lead needs to be removed," said Derek Miles, a former Carrier employee. "Everyone deserves a safe work environment."

IOSHA opened the case on March 31. The agency will not release any information until the investigation is complete.

Carrier released a statement about the investigation saying they take employee health and safety very seriously and promptly investigate any complaints.
