HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. - Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department deputies Jason Woods and his wife Teresa Woods were both suspended from their jobs without pay, the Call 6 Investigators learned Tuesday.
Both are Merit Deputies assigned to the Enforcement and Patrol Division.
The department remained tight-lipped about what led them to take action against the couple.
The couple's attorney, John Kautzman, released a statement on their behalf Thursday:
"Jason and Teresa Woods steadfastly and categorically deny the allegations brought against them by the Hendricks County Sheriff. These charges are based upon mere speculation and innuendo, and even imply criminal wrongdoing without any basis known to my clients. These deputies are entitled to due process and fundamental fairness in the Merit Board proceedings, and they look forward to the opportunity to clear their good names and reputations as soon as possible."
Their termination hearing is scheduled for March 26 in the Hendricks County Government Center.
