INDIANAPOLIS -- The frustration of Carrier workers is understandable, and especially evident at their rallies and the RTV6 Town Hall event, where the angst came to a head surrounding corporate greed and free trade agreements as the cause of their problems.
But it wasn't without trying. A plan to help the company save $25 million was proposed by the United Steelworkers Union, the group that represents Carrier workers, that would keep the 1,400 Indianapolis jobs here, but their parent company, United Technologies Corporation, turned it down in favor of saving $65 million with the move to Mexico.
So could anything change their mind? And how can we stop this from happening again?
