INDIANAPOLIS - The owner of Veteran Construction -- an embattled roofing company that has been the source of a Call 6 Investigation -- has been arrested on more than 30 counts of home improvement fraud and theft.
Michael Friery turned himself in at the Hancock County Jail Wednesday morning, officials said.
The state filed a lawsuit against Veteran Construction in August, after the Call 6 Investigators revealed the roofing company was at odds with dozens of customers in Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky.
The lawsuit came several weeks after the stories of many customers who were still waiting for roof repairs from hail damage.
The court documents speak on behalf of 31 people that represent more than $296,000 in unfinished work.
Friery is being held on a surety bond of $300,000 in Greenfield and might have a court appearance Wednesday afternoon.
