Teens accused of battery against staff

INDIANAPOLIS - Three students were arrested at Broad Ripple High School Monday in what police described as a disturbance and an assault aimed at school staff.

An Indianapolis Public Schools spokeswoman said she had no details about what happened, but she said no weapons were involved.

School district police filed a report describing a disturbance in the second floor of the school between 11:30 and 12:30 on Monday.

No ambulance was called, according to Indianapolis EMS dispatch records, but the police report indicated that one of the students was arrested for battery against school staff.

That 15-year-old girl was booked on three misdemeanor charges of Battery Causing Injury, Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct.

Two other girls, age 15 and 13, were booked on disorderly conduct charges.

The police report indicated that all three girls were participating in the disturbance on the second floor of the school.

No other details were released by the district on Monday afternoon.
