INDIANAPOLIS -- The state of Indiana says 100,000 jobs are currently unfilled – a statistic 1,400 Carrier workers facing the impending loss of their own jobs hope is true.

Less comforting, perhaps, is the reality of many of those listings: 44,000 would pay less than $45,000 a year. More than 23,000 would pay less than $30,000. And only about 4,000 of those listings are in manufacturing.
