Couple Had Sex In Busy Public Pool, Police Say

Public Indecency Charges Filed Against Couple

Prosecutors in eastern Indiana have filed public indecency charges against a man and a woman after they were caught having sex in a busy public pool, authorities said.

Connersville police said officers were called to the Roberts Park Family Aquatic Center, where witnesses told them the 39-year-old man and 40-year-old woman had been having sex for about a half hour before they complained to the pool manager.

The manager told officers that when she told them to stop and they moved away from each other, she could see the man's penis.

"One of the witnesses advised that she went over next to them to make sure her children didn't get close to the subjects," part of a police report read. "All the witnesses were visibly disturbed by the incident."

Deputy Police Chief Dennis Perkins told the Connersville News-Examiner that the couple was initially given trespass warnings on Sunday and not arrested because officers didn't see what happened.

Both face up to a year in jail if convicted on the misdemeanor charges.
