INDIANAPOLIS -- Two Indianapolis schools were on lockdown after a person was shot and a vehicle crashed in the area.

One person in a vehicle was shot, leading to the vehicle crashing into a tree near Fox Hill Elementary at 802 Fox Hill Drive.

Fox Hill Elementary and The Orchard School briefly went on lockdown after the incident. Both have been lifted.

Police say the shooting happened after a drug deal. The deal happened at the intersection of 71st and Michigan. After the deal, both parties were driving on Fox Hill Drive in separate vehicles, when one person from the vehicle in front turned and shot at the other.

The victim was shot in the forehead. He was taken to St. Vincent Hospital.

Police are still searching for a suspect.
