INDIANAPOLIS -- An alleged member of the “Grundy Crew” criminal organization is behind bars following his arrest on new drug-related charges last week.

Anthony Tinnin, 30, was formally charged Thursday with dealing and possession of narcotic drugs, carrying a handgun without a license, dealing and possession of marijuana and driving without ever receiving a license.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed in the case, Tinnin was arrested on July 4 after an IMPD officer spotted him driving recklessly westbound on 30th Street near Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street.

During a traffic stop and subsequent search of the vehicle, officers reportedly found individual baggies of marijuana in Tinnin’s car, along with approximately 50 individual bindles of heroin and a handgun stored in a space behind the glove compartment.

A passenger in Tinnin’s car, 29-year-old Shanee Williams, was also arrested on multiple counts of dealing and possession of narcotics and carrying a handgun without a license.

The couple’s 1-year-old child, who was in the car at the time, was placed in the care of a family member.

Tinnin had only been out of jail for a little more than a month before his most recent arrest. He was arrested on May 24 on allegations of possession of a firearm on school property and resisting law enforcement.

Prior to that, Tinnin spent a year-and-a-half in the Marion County Jail on charges of drug dealing, corrupt business influence and conspiracy to commit murder relating to his alleged role in the Grundy Crew crime family.

Tinnin and 10 other alleged members of the group were charged in October 2015 with a slew of charges, including murder, racketeering and drug-related crimes.

Since then, the majority of those individuals, including alleged ringleader Richard Grundy III, have seen the most serious of those charges dropped.

Marion County prosecutors filed to drop four charges of conspiracy to commit murder against Tinnin on June 29.

Prosecutors have reached plea agreements with a number of alleged Grundy Crew members – most recently 25-year-old Avery Bullock, who will serve at least five years in community corrections for dealing cocaine and marijuana pursuant to a deal he agreed to last month.

A jury trial for Tinnin’s charges stemming from the October 2015 case was scheduled for August 14. He will be in court next on September 25 for a pretrial conference in reference to the latest charges against him.
