MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. – A $475 reward was established by the owner of a Converse, Indiana gift shop to help a father reconnect with a stolen cross necklace containing his son’s ashes.

Tishia Pickett, owner of Itty Bitty Acres Country Décor & Gifts, said she heard about the Mike Arbuckle's loss and wanted to help him.

“I don't know the gentleman that had this necklace stolen from our area but I do have children and I'd love to help him,” she said.

Arbuckle’s cross necklace, containing his son's ashes, was stolen from his truck Saturday.

Arbuckle said when he left work around 6 p.m., he noticed his truck was trashed.

"I don't know if whoever took it knows what they took, but they actually took him with them,” said Arbuckle.

Pickett said her business vowed to donate $250 to the person that helped return the necklace. Other people have added more than $200 to the reward.

"We've already lost Patrick once and this feels like he's been taken from us again," said Tess Brass, the man's mother.

Brass lives thousands of miles away, in Washington. She has her own cross with his ashes hanging on her rearview mirror.

"He is my guardian angel," she said.

If the cross is found, it should be dropped off at the gift shop located at 315 N. Jefferson Street. It can also be mailed to PO Box 422 Converse, Indiana 46911.
