INDIANAPOLIS -- IMPD officers from the Northwest District and criminal gang unit discovered a large marijuana grow operation while conducting a home inspect on the northwest side Wednesday.

The home, which is located in the 3900 block of North Guion Road, is the residence of 54-year-old Brent Griner.

Police were conducting the inspection to ensure Griner was remaining compliant with the conditions of his probation from previous arrests.

During the inspection, officers reportedly found a large marijuana grow encompassing more than 100 plants.

Detectives also found baggies of suspected marijuana labeled with names like "Blast," "Silver Bullet" and "Blue Dream."

Griner was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing and possession of marijuana.

Marion County arrest records show Griner has been arrested before on charges of dealing marijuana. In February 2015, and then again in May 2015, Griner was arrested on multiple charges of dealing and possession of marijuana.

Griner also has a 2011 arrest for dealing and possession of marijuana, along with maintaining a common nuisance.

As of Friday afternoon, Griner was being held at the Marion County Jail.
