INDIANAPOLIS -- A man and a woman are accused of neglect of a dependent after police say they found drugs and a loaded gun in their SUV on Indianapolis' north side.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were following up on a shooting investigation in the 3000 block of N. Capitol Avenue on Tuesday when they say they saw a vehicle commit a traffic offense.
They stopped the black Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Anthony Tinnin, 30. Shanee Williams, 29, was also in the vehicle, along with their 1-year-old child.
Detectives and officers developed probable cause and searched the SUV.
A loaded .40 caliber Glock semi-automatic handgun, heroin and marijuana were among the items recovered.
Child Protective Services responded to the scene and made arrangements for the 1-year-old to be placed with a family member.
Tinnin and Williams are facing several preliminary charges including neglect of a dependent, dealing in a narcotic and possession of a narcotic.
