INDIANAPOLIS -- The initial court hearing for Jason Brown, the man accused of shooting a Southport police lieutenant 11 times and killing him, has been delayed for the second time.

Brown is now scheduled to appear in court on August 9.

Brown's court date was initially scheduled for Tuesday, but he was not medically cleared to be in court, a representative with the Marion County Prosecutor's Office said. The court date was then moved to Thursday, but has now been moved to next Wednesday, barring any other medical setbacks.

According to a probable cause affidavit released Tuesday, two officers fired at Brown after he shot Southport police Lt. Aaron Allan.
