INDIANAPOLIS -- After more than 12 hours of deliberations Wednesday, Marion County jurors announced they were unable to reach a verdict against a man accused of stabbing his roommate to death in 2015.
Prosecutors told jurors over a four-day trial this week that Caleb Bixler and his roommate Keith Cornwell beat and stabbed their roommate, 37-year-old Ron Trahan, more than 70 times in August 2015.
Trahan's body was found with the help of a cadaver dog under a pile of mulch in a warehouse parking lot in the 3300 block of East Michigan Street.
In a probable cause affidavit, investigators alleged Bixler and Cornwell killed Trahan because they thought he was a "snitch."

Bixler and Cornwell were both 18 at the time of the attack.
Cornwell was found guilty in February and sentenced to 51 years in prison, followed by four years in community corrections.
But a separate jury was not able to reach a verdict against Bixler. The Marion County Prosecutor's Office said it wasn't immediately clear what jurors hung up on.
A re-trial has already been scheduled for October 2 in Marion County Superior Court 1.
