LAFAYETTE, Ind. – A Lafayette mother is accused of burning and beating her infant on multiple occasions because of the child’s messy diapers and crying.
Danielle Hunt, 18, was arrested after her 3-month-old ended up at Riley’s Hospital for Children because of severe burns, according to the Lafayette Police Department.
Police say Hunt admitted to hurting her baby more than once when she got upset.
The child's condition was not released.
Hunt is charged with three counts of battery with serious bodily injury and one count of child neglect. She is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.
