LAWRENCE, Ind. -- A Lawrence man was found guilty of murder Wednesday for his role in the 2014 death of his girlfriend’s infant daughter.

A judge found Corey Bullock guilty of murder in the death of 9-month-old Aiva Mcgee, according to a news release from the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.

Bullock was re-tried for the murder after his previous case on the charge ended in a mistrial and hung jury last year.

Aiva died in October of 2014, her cause of death was determined to be blunt force traumatic injuries. Court documents said the infant received the injuries over a month earlier when Bullock was babysitting her for his girlfriend. No one reported the injuries to police or sought medical treatment for the child.

Bullock was also found guilty of neglect of a dependent last November for not reporting the injuries.

The child’s mother, Apryl Hammer pleaded guilty in June of 2016 for neglect of a dependent for not reporting her daughter’s injuries. She will receive a 30-year sentence for her cooperation in Bullock’s prosecution.
