INDIANAPOLIS – The man accused of shooting at an Indianapolis police officer’s home and car plead guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm Monday.

IMPD officials said March Ratney agreed to a plea that would put him in prison for 11 years as a result of his July 2016 arrest.

Ratney was accused of shooting at the home of an IMPD officer on the city's near-east side.

The officer was at home and awake during the shooting. His wife and 10-year-old son were asleep at the time. No one was hurt.

The officer and his family said they are pleased with the outcome of the case, according to IMPD officials.

Ratney is set to appear in court May 1 at 2:30 p.m.
